AT&T has rolled out a couple of new 3G LaptopConnect devices, the AT&T USBConnect Turbo and AT&T USBConnect Velocity. The USBConnect Turbo is AT&T’s first LaptopConnect device from LG, meanwhile the USBConnect Velocity is the first GPS-enabled LaptopConnect device from AT&T that works with a free software application, the Option GPS Control Panel, that benefits location-enabled sites such as Yahoo! Maps and Bing for directions and local points of interest. Both gadgets also support a microSD memory card slot, allowing you to carry your data anywhere you go. The AT&T USBConnect Turbo retails for $99.99 with a two-year DataConnect of at least $35/month, but will come with a mail-in rebate ($100 AT&T Promotion Card). HP Spain today introduced their new smartbook in the form of the Compaq Airlife 100. The new smartbook has a netbook-style design, a 10.1-inch touchscreen display and an integrated 3G. The Airlife 100 is powered by Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon with a 16GB SSD and WiFi connectivity. Its battery provides up to 12 hours of operation time or 10 days of standby time. Additionally, the Airlife 100 also has a webcam and an SD card slot. The new HP Compaq Airlife 100 smartbook will be launched in the European market during Spring 2010. Orange UK has started selling the Asus Eee 1005HGO (Seashell) netbook that allows you to get online when you’re on the road thanks to its built-in 3G modem and WiFi. The 10.1-inch netbook provides a long battery life of up to seven hours and features an Intel Atom N270 processor with a 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and a built-in webcam for video conference.
