Samsung comes back to the Full HD camcorder market by releasing the HMX-S16. The video recorder comes jam packed with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 64GB of SSD (Solid State Drive), a 10MP 1/2.33-inch BSI CMOS Sensor and a Full 1920 X 1080/60i HD video recording. The Samsung HMX-S16 has a 18x zoom (15x optical) with Samsung’s Intelli-Zoom, an Optical Stabilization and the Victoria Engine video processor. What’s more, this ultra-portable camcorder also supports DLNA that allows you to easily transfer your recorded videos and pictures to the DLNA-enabled TV or PC via Wi-Fi. Samsung has recently unveiled the new Zipel e-diary refrigerator for the South Korean market. It features a 10-inch touchscreen display, WiFi and is compatible with DLNA devices. Its touchscreen display can be used to show current weather conditions, more than 500 different kinds of food with their nutritional content and news from the internet. Available in cream white pattern, the Zipel e-diary retails for $2170. Samsung also announced a luxurious refrigerator that is designed by Italian jewelry designer, Massimo Zucchi. Priced at $2600, this special edition refrigerator features a special theme of water and ice.


Panasonic has entered the 3D Blu-ray player market by releasing the new DMP-BDT300 at Panasonic’s annual convention in Munich, Germany. This 3D Blu-ray player adopts the company’s UniPhier LSI chip allowing output of Full HD images (1080p quality) in the frame-sequential method. All you need is an active shutter pair of glasses and a 3D-ready TV to enjoy the 3D content. The new DMP-BDT300 can also upscale your old DVDs. Connectivity options include DLNA support, USB, an SD memory card slot, as well as support for JPEG, DivX Plus HD and MP3, and AVCHD, MPEG2 and JPEG content. No word yet on pricing or availability. Designed by Neil Poulton, the latest edition of LaCie Internet Space 2 is basically a network hard drive that provides the possibility to access the drive’s content remotely from anywhere by logging on to www.homelacie.com. The device boasts a 1TB of storage capacity and supports both UPnP and DLNA. Each purchase of the drive comes with the DesktopMirror software, which automatically backups and synchronizes the data on your computer. The LaCie Internet Space 2 is priced at around $269 a pop. LaCie today upgraded its LaCinema series with the LaCinema Classic HD, which is a multimedia hard disk player with full 1080p playback and DLNA functionality. The device is compatible with DivX, MKV, AVC and H.264 file formats and supports Dolby Digital audio. Connectivity includes 10/100 Ethernet, HDMI 1.3, Composite audio/video and several USB 2.0 ports, which can be used to attach external storage. The LaCinema Classic HD is also able to stream content to the DLNA-compatible media player such as Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, it won’t work with the Nintendo Wii.
